What a find! I figured I’d have to spend years breeding to get my dream bull, and here all I had to do was drive to Georgia to visit Gabriella Nanci of Belle Fourche Farm.
Rousseau is one awesome guy and our main herdsire. He’s homozygous polled, which means all his calves will be polled, no matter what. He’s got a super temperament, good muscling and comes from great dairy bloodlines. Gabriella says his dam is a 3-3 1/2 gallon per day producer. He’s also homozygous for the A2 beta casein, which means heifers that will produce milk that’s healthier for us.
His mellow, friendly disposition caused quite a stir when he made his stage debut in town at Christmas in a live nativity. People were shocked that a bull “could behave so well”. We were all smiles. We’re so excited to have Rousseau as herdsire and can’t wait to start seeing his babies here on the farm!
We now have semen straws available for shipment for AI. $90/straw
