Thanks, Ryan!
We bought ours from www.portablemilkers.com with a 1/2 HP Porta-Vac pump. It works great & I've had no problems at all. You just have to take really good care of the pulsator. It usually takes only about 5 minutes to milk out a cow. I do usually have to add some downward pressure on the inflations by pulling gently on them to get good milk flow. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they do make a goat claw, too...but don't hold me to that! Hamby Dairy also carries Surge parts.
Good luck to you!

Sorry to comment on an old post, but I was just had a few questions:
- How long does it take to milk your Dexters (or other cows) with the Surge?
- What size pump do you use? 1HP, 3/4HP, 1/4HP?
- Does Surge make fittings for Goats & Sheep to use the same setup that you know?
- How is the reliability of the system? Any issues/breakdowns?

Thanks,
Ryan

PS. Loving the archives so far!

Even though we saw you milk when we picked Sara up, it's still helpful seeing the pictures like this. We hope to get set up in the fall to be ready when she calves in early November. I posted pictures on my blog of Sara checking out our new truck. She was SO funny--fascinated by her reflection in the shiny black truck!
